Oh my goodness. I don’t even know where to begin with these two. When I first met with them about their wedding, I remember them being so clear with what their wedding day should and should not be. They described their vision as being “simple but elegant” and laid back. This fits this couple so well who are so sweet and kind, and a little silly, and clearly in love with each other. They love doing things together outside and doing music together. They love serving others through their work for church and through music, as well as their upcoming work in Zambia. They both seem to hold strong to what matters to them, and roll with everything else that comes their way.
Thank goodness for that, because the morning of the wedding, the groom had to have his appendix removed! Almost everything changed about the plan for their day, and yet they didn’t let it take away from the meaning and beauty of the day. The important things were still there: each other, family, and God, so they rolled with everything else. I was amazed at their attitude and perspective all day and it is clear this is the start of a beautiful marriage. Like a sign at their reception said, “And so begins lots and lots of types of days”.
