Artists across the world express themselves and their emotions through a variety of mediums, photography is no different. Erin is one of the most creative people I know and always executes amazing visions for projects and parties. There are countless songs written expressing anger and frustration towards people who have wronged the writer. Think of Carrie Underwood singing “put a Louisville slugger through both headlights…maybe next time he’ll think before he cheats”.
Catharsis. When someone is dealing with something, shouldn’t her people come beside her and help her process what she is going through the way that she feels to be helpful? That’s exactly what happened for Erin!
Erin was supposed to get married 9/9/17. Unfortunately, things didn’t work out quite as planned. Instead of trying not to think of what could have been on that day, Erin chose to surround herself with her people and make it a day to remember. A day of catharsis. A day of empowerment. A day of freedom. A day to celebrate self.
Her vision, like always, was huge. Epic even. But I think she succeeded in her vision and in showing that she is surrounded by love that will be next to her even on the hard days!
Marriage, It’s not about being happy or making another person happy. I was designed to reflect Christ’s love for His Church. If the reason to get married is anything but to glorify the One True God, it’s just another relationship derived from some selfish feeling. It’s not a true marriage. Love the photography but the hearts do not seem to be in the right place.
Thanks for sharing your perspective and feedback! The purpose of the photoshoot was for the bride to not be alone on what would have been her wedding day. And to artistically show her journey through upset and turmoil after the break-up into ultimately having hope again for her future without the person who betrayed her.
